PRINCE OF DARKNESS
Satan lives! To be exact, he’s residing in a green slime stored in a big container discovered in the basement of an abandoned church in Los Angeles! (Don’t laugh, it could happen!) But the experience hasn’t changed him one bit and he’s still evil!
With PRINCE OF DARKNESS, John Carpenter, the man who does doom and gloom like few others, brings both hardcore fans and casual viewers another glorious slice of fantasy-horror.
This time it’s up to a group of graduate students to stop the Anti-Christ’s plans to release his father, the Anti-God! With the liquid coming to life and turning people into zombies, as well as man-eating ants and beetles also doing the really evil one’s bidding, the battle to save everything as we know it is not going to be easy!
Carpenter’s track record as a writer-director-producer and even soundtrack composer of genre films par excellence is unrivalled: “Ghosts Of Mars”, “Vampires”, “Escape From L.A.”, “Village Of The Damned”, “They Live”, “Christine”, “The Thing”, “Escape From New York”, “The Fog”, “Halloween”, “Assault On Precinct 13” and “Dark Star” – each one is a classic with a cult following of its own.
PRINCE OF DARKNESS also marks the first film appearance of the original shock-rocker Alice Cooper in a cameo role and there’s also a wonderful supporting turn by the gloriously strange Donald Pleasence who plays a Catholic priest.
