IRON EAGLE II
In IRON EAGLE II Louis Gossett Jr.'s Chappy Sinclair is charged with gathering a mixed Soviet- U.S. strike force that will undertake a surgical strike on a massively defended nuclear missile site in the Middle East.
Not only do the Soviet and American pilots have decided issues but also someone at the Pentagon is actively sabotaging the mission. As the attack begins Chappy learns that a nuclear strike has been ordered should they fail, with his men still on the ground when the blast takes place.
IRON EAGLE II is a high-flying, slam bang, action film where the audience gets to be forced back into their seats by the sheer g-force coming off the screen! Made during a time when détente was back in the headlines the appropriately up-to-date plot pushes maximum excitement to the forefront. Because filming took place in Israel with the full cooperation of that country's ministry of defence and armed forces, military aircraft fans will rejoice at the F-16A Fighting Falcons, F-4E Phantoms and Kfir-C-2 fighters. Clay Lacy ("Top Gun") photographed the aerial sequences with ace pilots of the Israeli Defence Force pulling the most daring dogfight manoeuvres. The result, says Lacy "is that the air-to-air scenes in IRON EAGLE II are the most exciting I have ever filmed". So sit back, strap yourself in and engage your afterburners!
