Film adaption of Benjamin Stuckrad-Barre’s best selling popculture novel SOLOALBUM about a neurotic, self-centered, big city kid.

Meet Ben (Matthias Schweighöfer): He’s the definition of the young and successful smooth guy, a widely known music journalist working for a trendy paper. Believing his own hype and living in his self-obsessed bubble, Ben’s world collapses when his much-neglected girlfriend (Nora Tschirner) breaks up with him after three years via text message because he forgot her birthday. Now Ben’s on a hilarious journey to win her back and gain his emotional balance for the first time.

Landing any number of sarcastic sideswipes on pop-culture and the attitudes that go with it director Schnitzler takes the story one step further than the novel. Poor Ben has to overcome lots of embarrassing, yet incredibly funny situations before highly entertaining ninety minutes have passed.

Set in Berlin’s trendy music scene the film not only conveys the charm and irony that turned the novel into a huge hit but lives off the wonderful performances delivered by newcomer Matthias Schweighöfer (“Fear Dot Com”) and his acclaimed MTV-VJ co-star Nora Tschirner, both of whom act with an accomplishment and maturity beyond their years.
