RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II
Lipping the ante and bringing it on with more muscles and fiercer firepower, Sylvester Stallone returns as former Vietnam veteran John Rambo in this only-Hollywood-knows-how action packed sequel to 1982’s "First Blood".
This time Rambo is released from prison to return to the scene of the flashbacks, Vietnam itself, to rescue U.S. soldiers still held prisoner. Finding himself abandoned by the politicians for whom the war is over and best forgotten, Rambo sets out on his one-man crusade to liberate the lost men, come hell, high water and any number of machine-gun toting enemies.
Once again, Stallone co-wrote the script, this time with James Cameron, the co-writer and director of "Aliens" and "The Terminator" while Steven Berkoff ("Octopussy", "Beverly Hills Cop") turns in another chilling performance as the resident bad guy, this time playing a Russian advisor. Oscar®-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith supplies the music.
Dropping the first film's emphasis on personal conflict, RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II instead grabs the action-trigger and for 92 minutes squeezes it hard on full automatic.
