Fanny, who has worked the streets since she was a child, uses the dimwitted, good-hearted and immensely strong nightclub bouncer Frieder to escape into a new life. But there is no difference between the home town hell she left behind and Munich. Soon she is back into prostitution. Frieder, who has followed her, smashes up the brothel and takes her away to an abandoned church. But they are people who do not agree with Fanny leaving...
Writer Jörg Gräser based his story ona real character he portrayed in a documentary film while being still at film school. Main actress Claudia Messner, director Xaver Schwarzenberger and writer Jörg Gräser won the Adolf-Grimme-Preis (bronze) for THE BOUNCER.
